What We Believe
We are the audience, not the expert
Alitheion evaluates the quality of the process that produced information — not the domain-specific truth of conclusions. We are methodological auditors. Subject matter expertise belongs to the researchers.
We rate methodology, not conclusions
A rigorous methodology that produces uncomfortable conclusions scores higher than poor methodology that confirms expectations. The quality of the process determines the score, not the palatability of the result.
Negative results are results
We do not suppress. We contextualize. Null findings, failed replications, and inconvenient data contribute positively to epistemological scores. Suppression of negative results is a critical integrity failure.
Self-audit has zero exceptions
Every entity in our parent organization is subject to the same evaluation framework. If our output fails our standards, we publish that finding. An audit system that exempts itself is marketing, not measurement.
Transparency over certainty
A source that clearly communicates what it does not know is more epistemologically valuable than one that projects false certainty. Uncertainty quantification is a signal of integrity, not weakness.
Unknown unknowns are the meta-risk
The most dangerous failure mode is not incorrect evaluation — it is failing to recognize what we cannot evaluate. We audit our own blind spots. The audit of the audit is the highest-order function.
